Swimming
This week Abby and I made it to the pool 3 days. This year it is hard to get her out of the water. She still doesn't like to ger her face in but if it happens by accident she doesn't freak out. Daddy was going to come after work on Friday but then the storms came. She likes jumping off the side (with mommy holding her hands), walking in the baby end, and splashing.

Nanny, Pappy, Abby, and I went looking for a swing set this week. We found one that is a possibility but Daddy needs to see it.

Otherwise things are are going well. We made it to story time this week and played at the park.

VBS
Vacation Bible School wrapped up on Thursday. It ended up being a good week. We didn't have a lot of kids. Highest night was 31, but I think the kids had fun. Abby enjoyed it as well. The theme was Crocodile Dock. Abby spent the first evening helping Daddy with games. On Monday night I talked her in to going to each of the stations with me. She loved it. She participated the rest of the nights. The last night she was dancing in front of the church during singing. She would never do that if she was asked to, but all on her own she loves it. I was amazed at what she learned during the week. She was with the youngest group (kindergarten and first grade). Each night there was a Bible point. She quickly caught onto that they were suppose to yell Fear Not ! when they heard it. She also picked up little facts throughout the week. Ex. tears have salt in them.

It was neat to see Abby in this setting. I am hoping this will get her excited about Sunday School in the fall.

Baseball Game
We went to see the Braves in Baltimore yesterday. The game was a 7:05 game so we decided to stay over night. After checking into the hotel we met Marge and Keith to head to the stadium. Abby was very excited to go to the game. She did great! She played cars, played at the kids area, watched parts of the game, and enjoyed cheering for both teams.
When we returned to our room she was still wide awake. It was her first stay in a hotel and she wasn't so sure about sleeping there. We had two double beds and I ended up sleeping with Abby. I am not sure how some families all sleep in the same bed. It was just Abby and I and she managed to wake me up several times. She is apparently a very active sleeper. I got kicked a lot. :) In the morning we walked around Inner Harbor for a bit then headed home. It was a nice mini vacation. And Daddy got to see his boys play (even though they lost)!

Next road trip is to Meadville in July.

Butterflies
Abby was very excited this week to free her butterflies. We left a few out on Monday and the last 2 this morning. Most of them flew away when released. One sat on the railing for a bit. Abby enjoyed getting a close up look. Maybe we will do it again sometime.

As the year ends at school I am still amazed at how quickly it went. I am switching classrooms for next year. Still teaching first grade, just a switch for comfort. We aren't packing up, just moving one closet a time. Hopefully we will finish by the end of the day Friday.

New Seat
Abby is very excited about her new car seat. We switched her to a high back booster in the van. We need to purchase a second seat for the truck. She really wants another pink seat. Daddy isn't so thrilled about a pink seat in his truck.

Abby is anxiously awaiting the arrival of her butterflies. Her caterpillars are all in chrylsis form. I can't wait to see her face when she sees the butterflies. Although I am having trouble explaining to her that she can't play with them.

School is wrapping up next week. It is hard to believe I have finished one year of first grade already. I will be packing to move again though. I am switching rooms with another first grade teacher. The switch is more for personal comfort. Her room is always cold and mine is always hot.

Abby and I are both excited to have some time at home. Plans are going to the library, pool, parks, and probably spending time with her new cousin Nathan. Lunch with Daddy is always fun too.

I have been busy prepping for VBS. I am the director this year. It is the week right after school gets out. Soon that will all be finished.

Stuff
Not too much going on lately.

Abby had been very excited about finding house numbers and making the connection that is someone else's address. She has also been very buys being silly. She likes to make up silly songs and answer questions with silly words. This evening she insisted that we walk to the rock walk at the school so she could play for a bit. Then daddy met us and said Katelynn wanted to play at her house.

She was very excited this week about trying pudding so we made some at home and she ate a little bit of it.

It ishard to believe that I am going to be wrapping up my first year in first grade already. I am looking forward to some time at home with Abby. The park is more fun now that she can do more of the equipment alone.

Happy Easter
We had a very busy Easter weekend! Friday Sean helped some friends move and Abby and I hung out with Aunt Catherine and Nathan for a bit. Saturday we rode the Easter Bunny Train at Strasburg Railroad. It was fun except for the pouring rain. We got a great picture of Abby, Daddy, and the Easter Bunny. Then we headed to the Lavery's to celebrate Easter and Robin's 2nd birthday. Abby had fun playing cars, dying eggs, finding eggs, and playing with Molly and Robin.

Sunday was church. We enjoyed sharing pictures of Nathan. We had lunch with Sean's Mom's family. Then headed to my parents for dinner. It was busy but we got to see everybody for a bit.

Abby enjoyed her 4 Easter baskets!!! She was very happy that the Easter Bunny brought her some cars and an egg that you put in water and a few days later you have a duckling.

We will post pics soon. There are many to go through.

Dentist
On Wednesday Abby and I went to the dentist. Six months ago when she went she rode on the chair. This time was much better! She sat on my lap and let Steph count her teeth. She has 19 which is one less than she should have. Apparently she is missing the same tooth that my brother is missing. Then she got her teeth cleaned. She wasn't thrilled with it but we just kept saying a little bit more. Then she had a few teeth flossed. Then mommy had her turn. When the dentist came in to look at her teeth she hopped on my lap and allowed him to look. She got to put her name in the no cavity jar. Hopefully it always goes that well.

Swim is going well too. She was very eager to get in both weeks. She still doesn't like getting her face in the water but we are working on it. This week the water was very cold due to a pipe breaking. We will miss next week since we will be riding the train with the Easter Bunny.

busy busy
The last few weeks have been busy. Abby had a bladder infection two weeks ago. That was fun. She never got to the point that it hurt, but she was having many accidents, eating very little, and drinking a lot. We went to the doctor and had a blood sugar test and had to collect a urine sample at home. While finishing up the antibotics for that she got a cold (cough, fever, and runny nose). It was viral so they really couldn't help her much.

Last weekend we got to meet a new family member. Coleen, Tom, Robin, and Molly were in York for a few days. Abby got to meet Molly. She was very excited and enjoyed sharing her purple blanket with her. She was so gentle around her. It was neat to see her interacting with a little baby. Robin and Abby enjoyed some swinging and playing in old leaves.

Abby will be starting swim class on Saturday. It is the same class we did in the spirng. It is at Red Lion and mommy gets to swim with her. She really liked it last year. And this year we don't have to wear SWIM diapers!!!

Abby and I also attended a baby shower for Catherine and a bridal shower for Beth. She got to see more of her second cousins and both showers.

We are awaiting the arrival of our new cousin. Catherine and Kevin will probably be having their baby in the next 2 weeks. I am so curious to see how Abby does with a cousin who lives so close.

We are ready for Spring to really come! Abby has been bugging to go up to the school and play on the rock wall. I am looking forward to getting out more and walking.
